Campiglia Marittima
is a municipality of 12.543 inhabitants in the province of Livorno. Its toponym is first to be found on 1004 as "Campillia", from the Latin "campus" (field). The adjective "Marittima" was added in 1862, meaning of the Maremma (from the Latin Maritima). From its hills, which are part of the Etruscan road of Costa wine, one can admire a beautiful sight of the Tuscan archipelago and of Northern Corsica.
